I thought I'd put up this page to help find other relatives in the Rendahl lineage.  It appears that the correct spelling of my surname should be "Reindal".  The spelling was changed with my great-grandfather around 1900. I should also note that I have used the Swedish spelling of "sen" instead of the Norwegian "son" at the end of surnames in the below charts, because that spelling is what usually turns up in genealogical searches. Swedes and Norskies don't always get along, so I thought I would provide clarity on this up front. :-)

There are hot links for some of the names on the following charts. You must have Adobe Acrobat in order to read the files associated with the hot links.

It is incredible to think that people would travel across an ocean and face all the perils and unknowns of the new world. And yet, this is what our ancestors did in a mass exodus from Europe from roughly 1850-1920. Things either must have been really bad and/or the promise of the freedom given in the United States must have been tremendously alluring. The month-long journey over the ocean and passing through some shipping ports was in some cases only the beginning of hazards for our ancestors. Click on the link to see a drawing of the type of ship the Rendahl's took to go from Oslo, Norway to a port (not yet certain which one) in England that in turn lead to taking a ship to one of a couple ports in North America. I'm not certain from where I have obtained the drawing of the Angelo, so sorry in advance on that. I do not yet know the shipping dates/lines nor port of entry for most of the Rendahl's, but will post this when I find it.

Related to heritage: I lost my beloved paternal grandmother, Hazel Zick (nee Ryan), in September, 2008. She raised me from early on, and most importantly, introduced me to the Lord at a very early age. She asked me a few years ago already to deliver the sermon at her memorial service. I have posted here a pdf of the sermon for your review if interested.

The following table is an abbreviated list of my direct-line heritage.
